Ed Blum
Chief Executive Officer
One of the founders of New Method Wellness, Ed now serves as our Chief Executive Officer. His 30 year background as a successful business executive combined with his passion for service in the field of recovery make him a perfect fit for the position. Ed brings a supportive but no-nonsense personal style to New Method Wellness and clients always rightfully feel that they have a personal ally at the highest levels of the organization. Ed served in the military for 15 years, enjoys cooking for crowds, and loves to play golf.
Rebecca Cooper MFT
Executive Director
MA in Clinical Psychology
Rebecca is the gifted author of the Diets Don’t Work Structured Program. This creative, unique and intuitive approach to the life threatening problem of disordered eating has profoundly changed the way this devastating illness is treated. Her extensive experience has enabled her to develop this highly successful program which internalizes new eating behaviors. It is being used by several recovery homes, therapists and their clients and is 12-Step compatible.
Susie Hopson-Blum CNDAA
Intake Director
Susie has been in recovery since 1978 and has a passion for working with others. Our belief here at New Method Wellness is to be gentle, loving, and kind as well as to let our potential clients know that we really do care. Almost everyday, you can call the center and talk to Susie to talk about the process and levels we follow. Besides working for intake with New Method Wellness, Susie is very involved in recovery and 12 Step work.
James E Cooper, JD
Chief Financial Officer
James “Coop” Cooper has been serving Orange County since 1976. He is well known as an ethical and honorable Family Law Attorney. For over 32 years, he has represented the rights of individuals needing legal guidance with marital and family issues. Along with his extensive experience and knowledge in the field, “Coop” Cooper brings common sense, discretion, integrity, and professionalism to the negotiation table.
Reverend Clark Burlew, DD, MAC, RAS
Clinical Director
MA in Clinical Psychology
Clark is an addiction specialist and has been developing treatment programs in the Southern California communities for over twenty-one years. Clark Burlew believes recovery will always involve spiritual change and is passionate about providing clients the opportunity to be part of a powerful recovery program employing principles from the Twelve Steps and relevant scriptures found in the Bible.
Dr. Kenneth Gheysar, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Gheysar graduated from The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) upon completion of his Under-graduate Pre-Medical studies in 1986. He then completed his medical training and received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), School of Medicine, in 1990. After completion of a 3 year Medical Residency in Family Practice at The University of Southern California Program (USC / PIH), he entered private practice in 1993. Since 2001, he has dedicated his entire practice to his area of expertise, the field of Addiction Medicine. He is certified through credentials and examination by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), where he has been an active member.
Rue Ellen Chancellor, CNAPS, RASI
Program Administrator
Rue is a leader in the compassionate recovery movement for alcoholics and drug addicts. She is the Program Administrator for New Method Wellness, a Southern California based outpatient treatment facility. Having personal experience with both the hardships of addiction and joys of recovery, she creates a peer connection with clients reflective of her passion for helping others. With over twenty-five years of experience in all phases of systems design, she keeps the program and information flowing smoothly. In addition to being a spiritual mentor and meditation teacher, Rue is also an accomplished musician, artist, and writer.

Allyson is passionate about helping people with their addictions. In recovery herself, she understands the dynamics of the disease for the addict and their families. She is dedicated in helping others find hope and freedom through recovery.
Nicole Bradley
Administrative Assistant
A key member of the New Method Wellness staff, Nicole processes paperwork for admissions, insurance claims, and client educational materials in addition to supporting all marketing activities. With a great deal of experience in medical office administration, Nicole ensures that NMW runs smoothly at all times. Nicole enjoys spending time with her extended family.
Kate Fennelly
Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist
Kate Fennelly, L.Ac., is a California State licensed acupuncturist and herbalist practicing in South Orange County. She is a certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist and uses the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) Auricular (ear) Protocol. She specializes in pain management, substance abuse, addiction recovery, detoxification and rehabilitation. Kate has studied and continues to utilize Vipassana Meditation, is a Reiki Master and trains in Tae Kwon Do and Qi Gong.
Kim Quick
Certified Yoga and Pilates Instructor
Kim is a certified yoga and pilates instructor for over 5 years. She approaches yoga as a healing tool of transformation that has enormous potential to bring individuals greater physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual vitality and well-being. Kim’s classes are therapeutic in nature and also offer challenges to allow people to explore their physical and psychological boundaries.
Lori Dell, LMT
Licensed/ Certified Massage Therapist
Lori is our provider of healing touch through her training in Massage Therapy and experience in her own personal recovery. Lori is a graduate of Santa Monica School of Massage and Healing Hands School, with decades of experience in compassionate healing. After work, Lori unwinds riding motorcycles and enjoys camping with her husband, grandchildren, and dogs.
Adam Williss
Martial Artist / Teacher
Adam is an internationally certified martial artist and healing movement practitioner. He is a firm believer in the powerful integration of thought, movement and living. He teaches how the art of movement can have a profound affect on the art of living. Adam’s experience has given him to opportunity to develop the Yinergi Qigong healing movement system. His system focuses on self-awareness, stress reduction, energetic alignment and body connections using the transformational impact of deliberately focused movement and traditional Chinese posture.
