DeAnna M. Jordan, BA, CADCA
Executive Director
Enthusiastic about service in recovery, DeAnna has worked with women in recovery for over 20 years, specializing in the maintenance of healthy relationships. DeAnna received a bachelors’ degree from University of California in Irvine and did post-graduate work at Centaur University. In Centaur’s Chemical Dependency program, DeAnna graduated in the top of her class with CAADAC certification to become a talented and respected drug abuse counselor at New Method Wellness.
Dr. Martinez, MD
Consulting Psychiatrist
Jeremy Martinez, MD is an Addiction Psychiatrist in Los Angeles, CA.
He has a diverse practice which focuses on the treatment of chemical and behavioral addictions. Dr. Martinez had given speeches at several national and international conferences in the areas of Marijuana and Mental Health, and Cultural Psychiatry. With his training in Addiction Psychiatry from UCLA, he is involved with the most cutting-edge treatments in the field.
His approach to therapy involves non-judgmental listening, with elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy.
Susie Hopson-Blum C.N.D.A.A., C.N.D.A.I.
Intake Director
Susie has been in recovery since 1988 and has a passion for working with others. Our belief here at New Method Wellness is to be gentle, loving, and kind as well as to let our potential clients know that we really do care. Almost everyday, you can call the center and talk to Susie to talk about the process and levels we follow. Besides working for intake with New Method Wellness, Susie is very involved in recovery and 12 Step work.
Dr. Shapiro, MD
Consulting Psychologist
David S. Shapiro, Ph.D. is a Psychologist (License # PSY 17495) in private practice in Orange County, California, where he provides high quality psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups. He has a warm personal style, and is dedicated to meeting the needs of his clients. Doctor Shapiro crafts individualized treatment plans to meet the needs of each client. Interventions used include short-term therapies to solve specific problems and longer-term treatment to assist individuals in overcoming long-standing difficulties. Dr. Shapiro earned his Ph.D. from the APA Accredited Counseling Psychology Training Program at the University of Texas at Austin, and also holds an M.A. in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University.
Trey Ames, BS, RAS
Addiction Specialist
Trey is a Nationally Accredited, Registered Addiction Specialist with a passion for helping individuals suffering from addiction to find the joy and hope that awaits them in recovery. Trey is currently taking graduate courses in a Marriage and Family Therapy Master’s Program. He brings a strong Christian faith to his personal recovery and encourages his clients to find their own spiritual balance. Trey believes that dealing with addiction is a threefold process which encompasses healing the body, mind, and soul. Trey has had to overcome his own addiction to drugs and alcohol and understands the road of recovery, with all its ups and downs, as only another recovering addict can. In addition to his role as an Addiction Specialist at New Method Wellness, Trey is also a Trained Leader at Celebrate Recovery; a Christ centered 12 Step Program. Lastly, Trey is very passionate about helping those individuals who are facing legal consequences as a result of their addictions; he works closely with these clients by offering personal assistance during the criminal court proceedings, including accompanying the client to court appearances and petitioning the courts to allow alternative sentencing in treatment rather than jail time.
Randy J Celaya
Certified Life Coach
Randy currently serves as President of The Coaching Bridge, an organization that provides executive and life coaching. Randy is a keynote event speaker, Certified Executive/Life Coach and Instructor with 17 years of coaching experience. Randy has been recognized as a strong motivator, results focused coach and effective communicator working with groups or individuals to achieve success. Randy is passionate about empowering individuals to live a balanced and fulfilling life.
Randy enjoys sharing his experience, strength and hope with others while coaching them through their recovery.
Kristi Hughes
Art Therapist
Kristi brings a creative outlet for self-expression to clients at New Method Wellness. Combining her artistic background with counseling education and 12-Step theory, Kristi facilitates workshops that promote client self-discovery and confidence building through art making and process critique. With personal experience in overcoming addiction, Kristi understands the dilemma faced by many in early recovery of suddenly feeling emotions that sometimes cannot even be identified, let alone expressed with just simple words. Clients work in a variety of media including paint, ink, clay, and sculpture that are well suited to provide alternative avenues of self-expression that stretch beyond the limits of verbal communication. Kristi holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Art in Studio Art and a Bachelor’s of Art in Art History from Chapman University.
Marissa Kent
Nutritionist
Marissa has extensive experience working with people with disordered eating, insulin resistance, diabetes prevention and weight management. Through individualized counseling and group education, she utilizes up-to-date research in the field of nutrition to promote health and prevent disease.
“I have a passion for helping others to achieve body satisfaction, weight management, and simply enhanced health. It is important to reconnect the mind to the body by paying attention to biological hunger versus emotional hunger. I believe that a healthy relationship with food is necessary for success. There is no diet or exercise plan that will fit the lives of every individual. The best way to achieve your goals is through individual analysis. Your nutritional plan will be based on your goals, your needs, and your body.” Marissa received a degree in food and nutrition from California State University, Long Beach.
Kate Fennelly
Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist
Kate Fennelly, L.Ac., is a California State licensed acupuncturist and herbalist practicing in South Orange County. She is a certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist and uses the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) Auricular (ear) Protocol. She specializes in pain management, substance abuse, addiction recovery, detoxification and rehabilitation. Kate has studied and continues to utilize Vipassana Meditation, is a Reiki Master and trains in Tae Kwon Do and Qi Gong.
Solange Mason
Yoga Instructor
Solange believes that yoga philosophy has something for everyone. She believes in discovering a balance between working hard and finding ease in one’s yoga practice, and ultimately, in life. By cultivating this balance of effort and ease, we are able to rest in our own true nature. She believes that attention to alignment is important to practice safely, and ultimately find stillness in the pose. Practicing mindfully allows one to receive the full benefits of yoga physically, mentally and spiritually. Solange leads her students into a deeper understanding of a pose, allowing them to discover a greater awareness of themselves. She encourages one’s yoga practice to be an exploration of what is real, of who we really are. “Yoga for Recovery” is a program taught by Solange at New Method Wellness, she has designed this program specifically for those fighting addiction.
Megan Quigley
Pilates Instructor
Megan was first introduced to the Pilates Method while job searching during a relocation from Toronto, Canada, to Los Angeles. Having worked in the fitness industry since completing her fitness Specialist Certification Program at Orange Coast College; her passion for fitness and a search for a new challenge made her a natural candidate for the Pilates Teacher Training Program. Under the tutelage of Jill Cassidy at “A Body Prepared”, she was introduced to the classical Pilates Method and even got to study under world renowned master teachers Ron Fletcher and Rael Iscawitz. Inspired by the energy and enthusiasm of her teachers as well as the positive changes in her own body, she has since been sharing her love of Pilates. Megan strives to give her clients efficient and effective workouts, with a focus on correct form and technique. She especially loves the challenge of teaching clients from all fitness levels, beginners through advanced practitioners.
Lori Dell, LMT
Licensed/ Certified Massage Therapist
Lori is our provider of healing touch through her training in Massage Therapy and experience in her own personal recovery. Lori is a graduate of Santa Monica School of Massage and Healing Hands School, with decades of experience in compassionate healing.
Terry Greenwood
Onsite House Manager (Men Only)
Terry is the manager for the men’s residence at New Method Wellness. He assists clients with performance of their assignments, time management and keeps the household day to day operations enforced. He transports clients to scheduled activities, treatment sessions, meetings, social gatherings and errands.
Ivy Chase
Office Coordinator
Ivy manages admissions paperwork, completes billing agreements between independent contractors and company. She maintains correspondence between insurance companies, as well as medical and legal parties involved. She manages office inventory, files, and often is our first impression as you walk through the doors of New Method Wellness. Ivy has a genuine passion for people and thoroughly enjoys being of service to others so they too may experience a healthy life.
Ed Blum
Chief Executive Officer
One of the founders of New Method Wellness, Ed now serves as our Chief Executive Officer. His 30 year background as a successful business executive combined with his passion for service in the field of recovery make him a perfect fit for the position. Ed brings a supportive but no-nonsense personal style to New Method Wellness and clients always rightfully feel that they have a personal ally at the highest levels of the organization. Ed served in the military for 15 years, enjoys cooking for crowds, and loves to play golf.
Bing Crosby, BA
Chief Financial Officer
Bing is the Chief Financial Officer at New Method Wellness. After landing a football scholarship at Boise State University, Bing went on to graduate from Vanguard University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Having owned several businesses in the past including a daycare center, Bing is well suited to serve as the overseer of financial matters for New Method Wellness.
