Addiction Aftercare: Critical Components Of An Excellent Alumni Program

Recovery doesn’t end at the termination phase of the treatment program. To ensure long-lasting results of hard-earned sobriety, graduates of New Method Wellness’ residential and outpatient programs get to participate in our Extended Addiction Aftercare, a voluntary alumni program that provides continual support from counselors, peers, and other alumni. According to research, environmental and social factors are critical components of long-term recovery from alcohol and drug abuse.

Client Empowerment: From Maintenance To Lifelong Sobriety

One of the most important aspects of the alumni program is client empowerment. Graduates get to execute what they learned during the maintenance phase of the Stages of Change. Our skilled counselors equip clients with tools such as job skills, anger management techniques, and a social support network that will empower them to sustain a meaningful life of sobriety

It’s Time For A New Method

What To Expect In Extended Addiction Aftercare

High involvement of alumni and current residents in recovery activities
Fun events (bowling, movie nights, picnics, beach, dinner, etc.) – the point is to make connections that encourage lifelong sobriety
Weekly follow-ups, check-ups via emails, texts, phone calls to provide support and ensure sobriety
Assistance with resumes and cover letters, which prove especially helpful for those who may have criminal convictions
Legal assistance with financial and other matters
Mock interviews that help clients overcome barriers to employment (e.g., short employment history, big employment gaps on resume, etc.)
Academic referrals to local community colleges to spur on educational, cultural and professional development

The Gift Of Giving Back

As an alumnus, you have the opportunity of giving back to those who are still in treatment. A positive, productive life of an alumnus speaks volumes about the success of the program; there is no greater testimony than a transformed life! The connections made between alumni and current clients instill vision, faith and hope that success is possible after graduation. Participation is voluntary, but New Method Wellness always has a high amount of participation from alumni, thanks to our family of clinicians and dedicated staff members!
